This 40-hour course provides instruction on the five rights of safe medication administration, including accurate and complete documentation, resident rights, and how to administer medications by the following routes: oral, inhalation, topical, and instillation, as well as observing and monitoring for side effects, interactions, and contradictions associated with medications and taking appropriate action. The instructor(s) will assist the students in preparing for each chapter assigned in learning the skills needed to pass the state exam.
